Gabrielle Fernandez

 Welcome Gabrielle Fernandez

A passion for people and our environment describes Gabrielle (Gabi) Fernandez, Sparkflight Studios (SFS) newest addition to the team. Gabi came to SFS after finishing her master's degree in architecture at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) this spring. She said, "I was drawn to the firm as it is led by a woman and the portfolio of work shows a commitment to sustainability and community."

Gabi said her greatest influencers were her professors at UNLV. She took several courses with Eric Strain who is also a principal at the firm assemblageSTUDIO and Gabi said, "he brought his passion and love of architecture to the students." She was also a student of and graduate assistant to Joshua Vermillion, who she said "is more into the parametric and digital technology side of architecture." Both professors brought unique perspectives to her education, influencing how she views design as a holistic and multidisciplinary process.

When Gabi is not in the studio working with the team at SFS, she is spending time with family and friends, reading, attending concerts, tinkering with mechanical keyboards, and visiting national parks. Her family are huge national park fans, having visited 12 parks.

Welcome Gabi!
