Credential Upgraded to LEED AP: BD+C

After maintaining the LEED-AP* credential for several years now, Anne has taken the plunge to be LEED-AP with specialty: Building Design and Construction (BD+C).





What does this mean for our clients?
  • Demonstration of current knowledge (LEED, best practice, green construction technology)
  • Assurance of third-party oversight of LEED AP credential
  • LEED AP point toward LEED Certification
  • Doumented continuing education as required by Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI)
Per the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) website, "The LEED AP BD+C credential provides a standard for professionals participating in the design and construction phases of high-performance, healthful, durable, affordable and environmentally sound commercial, institutional, and high-rise residential buildings. The Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) created this specialty credential to denote practical knowledge of the Green Building Design + Construction LEED rating systems: LEED for New Construction, LEED for Schools and LEED for Core & Shell."

 Note: Anne maintained the LEED-AP BD+C through 2018 and remains a LEED-AP.

    Thank you for sharing the information.

    Green building itself is a boon for all as it is not only helping to control the environment by using green materials in the construction of the building but, it is also helping the protection of global warming.

    There are number of companies who are providing the service of green building and it's sustainability and there is a company named as The spinnaker group inc who is providing the service of LEED consultants in Miami.

Reflecting on a Decade of Dedication - Melina Clark!

I have learned so much from her, including honesty, integrity, and hard work. Architecture is not an easy career, but it is worth it when you have meaningful projects.     My favorite project to date is the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority (SNRHA) Wardelle Street Townhouse project. I genuinely enjoy working on affordable housing. There is a significant need for affordable housing in this Valley and across the United States. Wardelle Street Townhouses provide 57 units for families or individuals in need. These units have market-rate amenities, which help the tenants feel pride and care for their homes.     Wardelle Street Townhouses was my first ground-up project, which is incredibly exciting as a designer. The Business of Architecture: Staffing, Retention & Recruitment left to right: Mark Johnson, AIA; Anne Johnson, AIA; Greg Erny, FAIA; Angela Bigotti, AIA Last month, AIA Nevada hosted the Fellows Forum (in conjunction with SFx) to discuss an important topic today - Staffing, Retention & Recruitment. The panel included long-time AIA members Mark Johnson of H+K Architects, Anne Johnson of Sparkflight Studios, and Angela Bigotti of Van Wert Bigotti Architects, as well as AIA Fellow Greg Erny of architects + LLC.  Key takeaways from the discussion included: The challenge of recruiting and growing young talent from novice to competent practitioner. How to engage and grow with emerging professionals in the office and still maintain an efficient practice.
